HOW TO INSTALL ARTIFICIAL TURF

Prepare the land

The first task is to prepare the land by getting rid of any vegetation present. You must also check whether it is necessary to work on the soil in order to remove lumps, rocks and roots. Level the land and make sure you have a compact and smooth surface in front of you. Make use of the permeable fabric as a separation layer. Apply a layer of gravel on the anti-herb fabric only if it is necessary.

Artificial lawn

You need to use automatic adhesive bands where you are looking to have your lawn placed. Nails can be used to fasten it. You can also use two-sided tapes if you are placing it in a balcony or terrace. Extend the turf roll from the starting point and flatten the coil folds. Then, you need to paste the grass on band. You need to make sure that all fibers are in the same direction and they are held properly.

In order to make sure that all joints are well connected, lift the corners of the lawn and glue the tape. Wait for some time so that it sets correctly. Then combine it with opposite direction rakesso that fringes are lifted. If silica is needed, you must provide sands so that raised fibers are maintained.

If one roll is not enough and you need some more rolls, some more tasks are needed to be done in order to make sure that joints are fitted correctly. Turn the role and make use of the black role base in order to cut the grass. After cutting, flip the rolls and make sure that the joint between the two is right from the beginning till the end.

Fold the sides of the rolls by leaving a space of 2.3 feet. Begin from the ending of the roll and collect the edges carefully till the middle of the band by connecting them. You must also keep on pressing the turf to make sure that the bonding is proper.

Lawn Installation Tips

It is not important to use silica, as there are many models of grass that don’t need it. If it is necessary, you need to leave a margin after pasting the turf and before filling it with silica. Follow these instructions:

  • 22 lbs. of silica are required for every 10 sq. ft. of lawn.
  • The sand should be thick between 0.01 and 0.03 inches and it should have quartz. It should also be washed and dried.
  • Surface of the sand and lawn must be dry when the filling processwill start.
  • Start filling it with the help of shovel, start from the middle and later scroll sideways.
  • Have maximum amount of sand in oppositedirection of lawn fibers. It will help stand the fibers upright.
  • You will be done when grass fibers are extended beyond 8 inches from the sand.
  • Once done, you need to water it so that the material is settled.

Placement on cement

Installation of cement is veryeasyand requires much less effort.

MAINTENANCE

Use broom or rake to get rid of leaves and other unnecessary things. You can also make use of blower, vacuum cleaner and detergents to get it done.

Water consumption is very less in amount by such artificial lawns. You need to clean the lawn only if there has been no rain for a long period of time so that it looks clean and dust is removed.

In order to maintain the beauty and class, proper maintenance is necessary. If you are using sand, follow a continuous method because there are chances that rain may eliminate it.

Synthetic turf does not require any specific maintenance. The grass has a very high resistance to fading effect of UVA rays.
